Springtime Wellness
4-Week Art Therapy Group
March 9-30, 2023

This group is for adults aged 18+ who are seeking to pause and reflect on their wellness within the theme of the season through mindfulness and art-based practices. All art supplies will be provided. This program is open to all individuals – no art experience is required!

In comparison to individual art therapy, group art therapy can be a more cost effective way to obtain the support you need. To illustrate this comparison: individual sessions are $130 per hour. During Springtime Wellness, you will be spending a total of 8 hours with Tiffany at a cost of $70 per hour.

Fee

Early bird pricing: $500 when you register by February 15, 2023
Regular fee: $560
(prices include tax)

Insurance

This program will be covered by insurance under “psychotherapy”. Please contact your insurance provider to confirm.



Payment Plans
A 25% deposit is required, with the remainder to be paid in 2 equal instalments by March 8 (one day before the program begins). Early bird pricing will be honoured if deposit is made by February 15, 2023. If you are interested in setting up a payment plan, please write to arttherapy@beacalmcreature.com

Cancellation Policy
You may request a full refund by February 24, 2023. Refunds requested on or after February 25, 2023 will be subject to a 50% fee of funds paid. No refunds once program begins.

Group Session Structure

1. CHECK-IN AND INTRO TO THEME
A brief check-in, via art or verbally, to capture the mood of the group as well as a short introduction to the theme of the session we will be focusing on.
2. WARM-UP
A small warm-up exercise to get comfortable with the art materials and bring you into the present moment. 
3. ART-MAKING
This portion of the group is where you will spend the majority of the time on an art directive that is specifically related to the theme of the session.
4. BREAK
A short pause from art-making and activity. 
5. GROUP SHARING
A time when you will share your artwork with the rest of the group. You are welcome to share as much or as little as you would like. This is a great time to connect with other group members. 
6. REFLECTION
A moment to reflect on your artwork, the process of making it, and anything you learned through the process.
7. CLOSING
A final closing exercise to ground you before you leave. 

About Your Facilitator
Tiffany Chinapen

Tiffany received her Master of Science in Art Psychotherapy at Queen Margaret University in Scotland. She approaches understanding and supporting her clients from an individual perspective informed by their social and cultural contexts. Tiffany works from a psychodynamic, reflexive point of view and incorporates a strength-based approach into her practice. She has worked as an art therapist in various professional environments, including schools, hospitals, non-profit organizations, and long-term care settings. As an artist herself, she works with collage, drawing, painting, and mixed media; she also writes poetry.
